Ed Dale Mankini Story – Part 2
Just when you thought it was safe to put Ed Dale Mankini into a search engine, you will find that even the term “mankini” has been infiltrated by my fiendish-nous-nous.
The font of ALL knowledge that is generally known, but not usually digestible by the average internet user, is Urban Dictionary.
Look up “mankini” and lo and behold we have the following (click and add your thumbs up!)

This is going to be one of those blog posts where I tell you what happened this week and you wonder why I am telling you. Still I hope it gives some inspiration to some.
Winner 1
Back on April 4th I posted about wanting to get a Macbook Pro for free . After checking round the internet it became apparent that if I wanted a free Macbook Pro I should move to America or wait a couple of years.
OK so that wasn’t going to work so I decided to get creative and look around for what would be the easiest way to earn cash online to be able to achieve my goal. I "fell into" Knewsroom after reading about the Kluster guys in some news feed or other. I soon became heavily involved and made USD$3300-ish in about a month. Enough for a Macbook Pro. Yay.
Australia pays about $1000 more per machine retail than the US, and I just could not justify to myself paying the extra for absolutely nothing more. Then the research started again either I could get one of my friends who was in/going to the USA to grab me one and send back; or I could get lucky on eBay. Turns out I got lucky on eBay and this post is being written from my new baby. I also bought an Apple Care plan for $300 less than retail in Australia.
So all up everything came in at AU$3K ($1200 under local retail) and none of it out of my savings (Knewsroom will be paying out next week)
3 months from go to woah, made up of 5 weeks of writing about an hour a day tops, 1 week stuck in a hotel room, and 6 weeks of research, bidding and more research.
Winner 2
You may have noticed in my side bar reviews section the book review for a chapter of Pete (man hunk) Williams’ How to Make Your Million Dollar Idea a Reality I did for a competition he was running. It was lovely to receive in the mail my prize this week. Mmmm lots of reading material yummy! Thanks Pete I look forward to reading your book in full, and so is my son who has some interesting ideas of his own sometimes

Winner 3
Also announced during the week was the Mr_Gadget haiku competition. That involved writing a haiku about the great Blue Ant Supertooth 3 hands free speaker thing for your car. I won yay! I actually desperately need this gadget as I do not have handsfree in the car (and I hate having to pull over every 5 minutes to take work calls).
This little beauty should appear in the mail in the next couple of days *excited*.
Now for everyone that will tell me that I am "lucky" I will point out that I actually worked for every one of these windfalls by writing something and swapping my time for the chance to get something in return. For people considering doing the same, think carefully about what time you have and what skills you have. If I knew I could be earning more money elsewhere than my writing, or that I would not have a good chance entering, then I probably would not enter (competitions are HIGHLY addictive).

How I Came To Love The Immediate Edge
If you have read my review of Dan Raine and Ed Dale’s Immediate Edge in the reviews section you will know that I was somewhat bemused that the presentation of information within the Edge was missing something. Don’t get me wrong, I have never thought anything taught by the Edge wasn’t valuable, but it just wasn’t grabbing me by the throat and shaking me. Things have changed!
In the last two-three months the amount of information, interaction from Dan Raine and Ed Dale, and top notch presentation has stepped up. This in part has been because of the addition of some very talented people to the Immediate Edge team, and they bring their expertise and extra output.
On top of the increased quantity, the quality (which has always been fabulous) is going places that are amazing. Brilliant stuff! The time-gap between what Dan Raine is doing for his own businesses and what is being taught, has come down considerably. As has the opacity, by that I mean I feel that we are seeing more of what Dan does in real life. The wall is not as thick as it once was.
The other factor, I think, has been within me. I am absolutely committed to leaving my corporate job on (or before) December 1st 2010 and what is being taught on the Immediate Edge is proving to be a magic key in unlocking the way forward. My skills and knowledge are maturing and I am making more practical use of what has been taught in the past.
Because of that last point I still will discourage anyone who has not at least intermediate skills and understanding of internet marketing to keep their money in their pocket. But for everyone else I want you to sign up under my affiliate link and spend at least 2 months gorging on the information that is already there before making a decision whether it is for you.
This teaser sent out by Ed Dale makes me think that now is a really good time to get signed up!

The Most Unique Niche in the World
When playing I Spy With My Little Eye, if I am playing with new people, I always say “Something beginning with H”. While it is amusing to watch hat, hand, hair, hose etc etc be selected the actual answer is horizon because it is always there, visible, yet people forget it.
So if I asked you what the most unique niche in the world is, I bet there would be some humdinger answers, but I would say the most unique niche in the world is….YOU
One small piece of proof of this came to me the other day when I was looking at the statistics for this blog. Of all the pages that have been Stumbled, Digged and referred in other ways, the page that has the most traffic by far is About Me. People want to know about me, the same as they want to know about you. That is valuable information right there.
Yet so many people try to be someone or something they aren’t. There is a saying that goes soemthing like “Don’t try to be someone else, that job is already taken” and how true that is. Shame so many people are trying to fill a role that is already full.
Being yourself can be incredibly hard.
When I was younger I thought it meant never ever having a strong opposing opinion to someone else. If you opposed them then they could not possibly want to talk to you again after a disagreement or discussion. Now I am getting on a bit (but not too much
), I realise that the people I want to know, are the ones that still love, respect or are prepared to talk to you, after you prove yourself to be less than perfect.
I have had this post in draft since the weekend but have been prompted to pull it out and finish it after this Twitter message
Robert Somerville posted a message on Twitter“If there was nothing you were NOT, what or who would you BE? Have you let someone else decide what you are not and if yes, why?”
Lining Up Clients
When a decision is made it creates a path in space and time that joins the decision to the actuality (this is one of those parallel universe quantum physics kind of things). I made a decision today and so the path was created just for me.
I am following that path, so far it has been quite easy.
Made decision
Bought domain
Uploaded blog
Grabbed theme, uploaded theme
Went to gym and thought about strategy
Drawing up stuff
Stay tuned
