With the 30DCHome 2 conference coming up in February I am working hard at making sure I get the most out of the conference in personal learning, but also in terms of brand marketing of the SWBN and of myself.
I have set the following goals which are fairly ambitious, but at the same time absolutely obtainable
- Introduce myself to every participant
- Make myself known via business card
- Gift something to each female conference goer
- Document the conference in interesting ways
- Create content from interviews with conference goers
- Invite conference goers to participate in The Pod Life podcasts
- Breakfast with new people to exchange ideas
- Meet and interview the Noble Samurai team and tour their dojo
- Meet and interview Luke Moulton of Flippa and SmallBusinessBigMarketing Podcast
- Create business alliances with like minded people
If you want to meet up with me at a special time then drop me a line, I am looking forward to getting together.
This is my breakthrough conference. The one where I emerge from the shadows and start selling myself and my ideas.

What a great idea to be totally ‘on purpose’ about what you want to get out of it. I’m going to do my list now….
If it’s half as good as the last conference then we are in for a treat

Great list and ideas Alison. I should have done the same before Manchester. Saying that the contacts and projects since have been amazing

Great guide – I haven’t got much past just getting there! I shall now ponder my own goals for the conference.

Seeing the great contacts etc you guys made is one of teh reasons why I knew I had to get myself organised. So many opportunities, so little time!

Oh I am absolutely always on purpose
I try to be as transparent as possible about it so people think I am this super uber housewife lol
Looking forward to seeing your list

Excellent accountability! I’m a big list-maker as well, and you’ve just shown me a new way to ensure action – publish your plan for the world to see and then follow through!
I can’t wait to see your follow-up post after the conference to see how it went! Go get ‘em!

Please consider me part of your network. There isn’t any reason that we females can’t duplicate what the men have had going for so long.
I am currently reading a book about the networks of male executives that basically run the major entertainment studios in the US. The relationships go back to the 20′s.
The Allens, the Hirshfields, the Warners, the Langs, the Fischers and on and on and on, and all male.
The women are the “be by my side and keep your mouth shut unless we are alone” kind of people.
Of course, the men make it worth the women’s while to put up with the combinations of males that have existed forever.
Let’s have our own cabals. My husband has already agreed that when I become a mogul he will be by my side and only speak up when we are alone. And, I have promised to make it worth his while.

@ Beth – I wonder if I could get my husband to do the same? LOL

Girls, girls…shhhhh , we don’t want the men hearing lol
Still, we do need to be more upfront ourselves. Did you read Clay Shirky’s Rant About Women the other day? http://www.shirky.com/weblog/2010/01/a-rant-about-women/ . We don’t need to be obnxious jerks, but we do need to step up and be noticed sometimes.
