In 2000 my life changed dramatically. I went from living like I had forever, to living like I could die tomorrow. This change was not brought about by anything positive I did, but by a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Happily I have now returned to living like I have some future and this blog is one of the steps on planning for my removing myself from corporate life, and doing it all for myself.
The four hour work week project is not a new concept for me. In fact many of the “work smarter not harder” changes I put into my life have been hard lessons I learned after my diagnosis. One of the symptoms of multiple sclerosis is fatigue, mind numbing, body weighing ten tonnes tiredness. Pacing, organising and discarding anything superfluous have been a necessity. So has ensuring I get enough rest, exercise and eating well.
As every day brings me closer to December 1, 2010, I am growing more and more excited about casting off from the safety of a regular income and diving into the adventure of doing it all for myself (and creating as many passive income generators as possible).
If you are looking to do the same thing then I invite you to add me to your regular places to read and learn from my triumphs and avoid my mistakes.
Happy Travelling!
