Yesterday I had an amazing birthday. First was the usual offline celebration with family, friends and colleagues. Yet at the same time I was also enjoying a fabulous online birthday with my “other” friends.

I am gobsmacked at the effort and co-ordination that so many wonderful people put in to make my birthday so unique, fun and very,very special. I took a sneak peek this morning into the FriendFeed room (with permission!) where all the brainstorming, masterminding and collaboration took place. An incredible amount of organisation and creative activity went into a seamless 14 hour online celebration.

I also feel very humbled and grateful that I can call these people “my friends”.  They are truly the “best of the best”, genuine, warm, affectionate people and I would be lost without their company and their examples of being brilliant human beings. They may find me shocking or coarse or downright rude, but they accept me for who I am, and I love them back in the very same way. It doesn’t get any better than that when it comes to the best kind of friendships.
