You may have thought I had dropped off the face of the earth after my week long absence and you would be almost correct.

Traveling back from from Coonabarabran I managed to rip a hole in the sump and fuel tank of my car after running over a rock. This lead to being stuck in the country town of Medooran (pop. 340) for a week while replacements were transported there and the car was fixed.

The accommodation was comfortable and the people pleasant, but the stress was unbelievable. No mobile phone coverage (I know now that when I buy my iPhone that the Telstra NextG network has crap coverage in rural areas of Australia), no internet access and precious little to do but read.

Luckily for me I had received an Amazon delivery on the day I was leaving and threw it into the back of the car on leaving home. Look out for a couple of book reviews soon and blog posts inspired by those books. In fact the books were all that kept me going complete bonkers as I was so stressed that I could not work on any of my projects and that my teenage daughter was home alone with only $20 to her name, that my eyelids developed tics (which start up again when I think about it).

All’s well that ends well yeah?

Welllll it hasn’t ended entirely well, getting home I find that my desktop PC with its 1+ terrabyte of storage has died. Looks like motherboard or CPU has carked it. Now which one of the 5 hard-drives is the bloody eBook on?

It is going to take me a little bit to get back on top of things … gah!
